BIOGRAPHY OF
PASTOR STEVEN L. THOMPSON
Pastor Steven L. Thompson was born in Atlanta, Georgia.  He is married to Gwendolyn Thompson and they have 2 children, Steven II and Kevin, and now has two grandchildren.  Pastor Thompson has been in the Service of the Lord for a number of years.  He served in many ministries from Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Director, Trustee and Sunday School Superintendent.  Being in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years, his God given gifts have been used in numerous countries around the world.   After retiring and giving back to his community as a school teacher, he also accepted his call to preach the gospel at Rivers of Living Waters Baptist Church in Lithonia, GA, in 2001.
    
 He was licensed to preach on April 7th 2002 and was ordained February 1st, 2004 under Pastor Willie J. Perrymond.  Pastor Thompson served as a God Fearing Associate Minister and Sunday School Teacher at Peek's Chapel Baptist Church, under the guidance of Pastor J. H. Battle for 5 years until being sent by the Lord to become the pastor of Rock Spring Missionary Baptist Church in September 2011.  He is excited about being a part of what God has in store for the church and the people.  He and Sister Thompson are looking forward to seeing the blessings of the Lord flow through the church as we grow spiritually in Christ.
 
His Core Values are:
John 3:14 – As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be Lifted up.
II Corinthians 4:7 – For we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God and not of us.
