Pastor J. Phillip Baker is the son of the late Deacon James C. Baker and Mother Florine Baker.   He is married to Lady Griselda Cooper Baker and the father of 4 boys and 2 girls.    Pastor Baker started his preaching ministry at the tender age of 16 years old, at the Peek's Chapel Baptist Church, Conyers, GA, under the leadership of Pastor J.H. Battle.  He was ordained and started pastoring his first church, Rocky Mount Bethel Baptist Church in Luthersville, GA, at the age of 17 years old.  Pastor Baker has since then pastored several churches, including Ebenezer Baptist Newnan GA and New Piney Grove Baptist Church in Decatur, GA.  In March 2012 under the direction of the Holy Spirit Pastor Baker did what few Pastor's have ever done he brought together two churches and merged them into one Trinity Bible Church organized by him in 2000 and Shady Grove Baptist Church organized by his Great Grandfather in 1874 united under one banner to become  Shady Grove Baptist Church Conyers.

Pastor Baker has many accolades to his credit.  He is a pastor with a great administrative ability, and the ability of Pastor Baker far exceeds what many deem possible.  He holds a Bachelors of Pastoral Ministry Degree from Luther Rice Seminary also a Master of Divinity Degree from Andersonville Bible College. He is a true man of God.  He is a much sought after revivalist, teacher, and preacher has preached on the State and  National stage in the late night service for the Baptist Conventions  and is a nationally known preacher.

Must importantly he is a man with a great love for people.  His favorite scripture is John 13:35 "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
