​Bishop L. Dante Smith received his early education from Rockdale County High School and continued his education through extensive studies at Bryant Theological Seminary, Fitzgerald,GA and the American Baptist Bible College, Nashville, TN receiving a Certificate in Biblical Studies and a Diploma in Theology 1986; Certificate in Clinical Pastoral Education, Candler School of Theology, 1989; Diploma, Georgia Department of Corrections Chaplaincy Services, 1991; Associate of Arts Biblical Education, Beulah Heights Bible College; A paraprofessional License from Georgia Professional Standards Commission, 1993; a Diploma in Theology, Morehouse School of Religion 1995; A Masters of Divinity from Emmanuel Bible College and Theological Seminary in 1998; a Diploma in Business Management, Athens Area Technical Institute, 1999; Georgia Board of Funeral Service, Licensed Funeral Service Apprentice, 2005; and lastly, A Certified Chaplain at Georgia Hospice and Palliative Care, 2006.

His employment includes, but not limited to, serving as a Consultant, Church-Minister Relations Division, Georgia Baptist Convention, 2001-2003; Current Pastor of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Athens, GA and Current Pastor, Bookers Chapel Baptist Church, Washington, GA.
